We have been working with these two young producers for a few years now, and both their story and their coffee continue to inspire. Their lots are consistently exceptional, and they are a pleasure to work with. In the cup we find a complex profile of tropical fruit, floral oolong, and berry-like sweetness.

Hand-picked at peak ripeness. Floated to further remove defects. De-pulped on the day of harvest. Dry-fermented in tile tanks for 30 hours. Dried until moisture content reaches 10.5%.
Wilmer and Yenni Moncayo have spent their entire lives in coffee. In his twenties, Wilmer worked in the United States for four years, saving enough to return to Colombia and purchase La Loma. While they plan to start a family in the future, their focus for now remains on their farm and specialty coffee projects.
Pink Bourbon is a relatively new variety being grown primarily in and around Huila, Colombia. The variety has been identified genetically as an Ethiopian Landrace, but unfortunately, we cannot be any more specific as to its origins until there is a larger genetic database.
The cost of getting a coffee from cherry to beverage varies enormously depending on its place of origin and the location of its consumption. The inclusion of price transparency is a starting point to inform broader conversation around the true costs of production and the sustainability of specialty coffee as a whole.
