Abraham's coffee is a continuation of our ongoing exploration of Ecuador and the unique terroir and varieties being cultivated there. Mejorado has long been one of our favorite varieties to work with in this country, and Saraguro in particular has produced some of our favorite coffee profiles. This project has far exceeded our original expectations.
Mejorado is a very unique variety mainly grown in Ecuador. Though it is colloquially known as Typica Mejorado, we now know — thanks to genetic testing by World Coffee Research — that it is actually a Bourbon variety cross-pollinated with an Ethiopian Landrace variety.
